Hello From The Upper Side

Week One: New York, New York USA

Welp, here I am in the middle of New York. Staying up high above the clouds, near Central Park. It’s beautiful here. I’ve never seen the city quite like this before. I’ve been to New York a handful of times, the most recent being last summer and I’ve done most of the top tourist attractions.

It’s been really fun to get to know the Tillotson family in a more personal way. We will start school next week, so this week we will make sure we have all the nitty gritty details all ironed out. It’s going to be an adventure traveling and working and I am excited!

As I was watching the kiddos this week, Wren reached up and grabbed my shirt, which then tore. Then later that night, Beckett stole my flip flops and ran around the apartment, expecting me to chase him. Oh these little rugrats, oh the fun we will have!

As I ran through the streets of Central Park, I contemplated how I got here. I was just in this park a year ago, I never thought this would have happened for my life. Little did I know that I would be nannying for a family that has a loft in New York. And here I am.

I get to spend the weekend with my oldest brother who lives in New Jersey with his family. ¬†I haven’t see them since last year, and I am ecstatic to meet their new addition to our family: my new niece!

New York is beautiful. It is the city that never sleeps, luckily we are so high above the crowds that we do get to sleep! I get to say good night to the city every night as I watch the sunset across the city. It is breath taking. Kenzie and I have been caught standing at the counter and  chating while we watch the sun go down, on multiple evenings.

One day down, good night New York.
