May 12, 2017 Quarters
I sit here contemplating the day of tomorrow: May 13th, 2017. Tomorrow marks the day that I turn a quarter of a century.
T W E N T Y F I V E. 25 years old! How did I get here?! How is it that I am 25, still in college, still not married, still don’t have a grown up job, and living in Utah?! By the grace of God: that’s how.
In the span of my 25 years on this planet, I have lived in 5 states- 9 houses and 8 apartments. Visited over 40 states, and 4 countries. Attended two different universities. Served an 18 month, full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints and held many different jobs since the age 15. Saying my life has been busy is an understatement. But oh, how the experiences I had in each of these places that I have lived and visited, made me the person I am, and brought me to where I am today.
So by now, you are probably wondering who is this girl?
To my family, I am known as the favorite and only sister, the birthday rememberer and ray of sunshine.
To my nieces and nephews, I am known as the bubble catcher, selfie queen, and lover of all things fun.
To my boyfriend, I am known as the leaver of cute notes, a person who can do everything on my own- but wants him to hold my hand through it, and a girl who is worth waiting a year for.
To my employers, I am known as a hardworking and passionate employee.
To my friends, I am known as the most loyal friend you could ever ask for, someone who is always there to listen and knows how to have a good time.
And to you, my friends, I am known as Alaire, The Nanny.
