taking flight in 2017

The New Year has come leaving last years decisions behind.

At the start of each year we are re-designing our infrastructures. Getting rid of chaos, evaluating tough decisions, being more compassionate, working on our health and beliefs. It’s basically our time once a year to take time to invest in ourselves and to also be forgiving of ourselves.

Our family will take flight in 2017. We are going abroad to live. We will spend and lend ourselves to this family this year. We are planning on leaving late spring to early summer and plan on being gone for a full year. The itinerary isn’t set in stone yet. We have an outline for our jumping off points and where we want to start for optimal weather conditions in each area. We are hoping to get input from people all over the globe on must see places and activities. So, if you have any suggestions please comment! It would be extremely helpful. We are travelers. Together we have been to 23 countries and many more separately. I’m a Sagittarius and we have a lust for travel. There’s nothing better than discovering a place I haven’t seen before.

A favorite author of mine Toni Morison said,

“We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language. That may be the measure of our lives.”

I’ve been measuring my life for years and years through several journals. This next adventure we’ve decided to go on will create new words for me to record. I don’t want to become indifferent to life. The things we have all selfishly torched to the ground in our lives while trying to find happiness; I want to give beauty to the ashes of those experiences.

I have the voice of a poet

The voice of peace

The voice of song (often off key)

The voice of passion

We are taking flight into a New Year

Five Take Flight Faves

My name is Arianna I am 19 years old and soon 20 years in October. I am French, I live in lagny on marne next to Paris. I am in high school because I did not have my exam last year but I would like later to make hotess of the air. My parents are divorced and I live with my mother. I speak a little English. I went two years ago in a family in the United States, I found this family on the internet, writing at school and the family of Los angeles contacted me, my dream is realized, My parents were afraid to let me go but in the end I experienced something unforgettable. I took care of the children, the meal etc … and I am by the same occassion became godmother of the little boy who has just been born. This adventure made me grow.
I am a caring person, I do not smoke, do not drink, do not go in the evening, I am respectful, attentive, hardworking, funny, warm … My favorite color is pink. I have been playing the piano for 13 years and I love photography. My favorite dish is fish and chips but I also love the pasta. I love cakes and especially sweets.
To live this adventure would allow me to meet you, and to meet the whole world, I would like you to trust me to your children, I will know how to bring them love and joy.
You could make me grow and I would have to take responsibility. I am probably not perfect and you may have much better candidates than me but I may be something that differentiates me from others I am UNIQUE. I hope to be the one who will have the chance to meet you and love you. It is up to you to make your choice but my heart beats very quickly to the idea of hearing my name as happy elected. Thank you

Honestly, your plans to travel with the kids are so great. It’ll be great for them to get to know the world and visit new places. I would have loved travelling when I was little, and I’d still love to travel today. When you come to Germany you can give me a shout out, I could offer you a very nice but still not pricey place to stay (if you are going to go to North eastern Germany that is). I really hope you find someone suitable to school your kids. I would love to apply but I don’t have any background in schooling apart from quite a few siblings. You guys seem to be a very nice family and I wish you all the best for your trips.

If I can suggest -> do not miss Finland and Rovaniemi, the Official Home Town of Santa Claus. Search for Joulukka – Santa Claus Secret Forest. Best experience you will ever have with kiddos. They are booked fast so I suggest that you write to them well in advanced!

This genuinely sounds amazing, you’ll have an incredible time and gain so many new friends and experiences. I would apply but i am travelling myself come August (only for 5 months though). If you manage to make it over to the UK i highly recommend a visit to Wales (slightly biased). I could possibly help you out with some accomodation as well if you did make a visit.

I hope you find your nanny and enjoy your life changing adventure.

I have a background in education but by far am not the most qualified. For those saying it isn’t enough money they obviously don’t love children and adventure. If you don’t love those two things you shouldn’t be a nanny. Two things I love are adventure and children so if you are still looking I would be happy to join and when kids through fits they are kids but people first sometimee listening is the hardest but the best and small bits of structure on an ever changing adventure is a must.

What an amazing opportunity for the perfect nanny! I sent in my application and am anxiously awaiting your decision! Even if I am not chosen, I have traveled as a nanny on the 1st National Tour of WICKED on Broadway for about two years, so I know the ins and outs that go along with living, traveling, and working with a family. If you have any questions on some situations you might come across when having a nanny on the road with you, I would be more than happy to help you out! It can be a little tricky in the beginning until everyone is on the same page so I would love to help out with some things that might make it a little less hectic from the start. Especially if it is a new situation for everyone, it can take some time to get everyone on the same groove! Good luck in your nanny search and happy, safe travels for everyone! What an adventure! ❤

I beg you than give me a chance! I love work with kids more than anything! I work since I have 16 years with kids (and now I’ll make 26 years) I’m nanny and psychologist.
I saw the video on facebook , where Derek ask about your youngest daughter put your finger in your mouth. Some kids put your finger in your mouths as a representation of breast-feeding, or in a moment of “lack”. But it doesn’t give to generalize, each case is different. As each child is a child and deserves careful differentiated.
